Allan R. Gessner, 78, of Fitchburg, formerly of New Fane, was welcomed into his Eternal Home on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at Wm. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, Madison.

Allan was born in Wauwatosa to Ella Gessner on June 29, 1947. They moved to New Fane where he spent his childhood. He attended New Fane public school and graduated from St. John Lutheran School in the Class of 1961. In 1965 he graduated from Kewaskum High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966 and was stationed at Patrick AFB, Florida for four years. He proudly attained the rank of Sergeant E-4 as a Pharmacy Specialist. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1970.

After returning home, he moved to West Bend and was employed at Gehl Co. for several years until he was no longer able to work due to health issues. He lived with his mother in New Fane and later was a resident at several VA Hospitals and private group homes, with the last and most enjoyable residence being the home at Fitchburg.

He had an enthusiasm for reading, especially various versions of the Bible, and was knowledgeable in a wide variety of topics and interests.

Allan is preceded by his Mother Ella and many aunts, Uncles and other relatives. He is survived by his sister Corrine Gessner, her daughter Sara (Johnny) Delozier, and their daughter Josie, all of West Virginia. He is further survived by cousins Marleen (the late Ira) Heberer, Mardell (James) Schulz, Russell Reysen, Mary Jane (George) Klein, Raylene (Steve) Justinger, Joanne (the late Paul) Schneiss, Diane (Bill) Richter, Kathy Gessner and Glenn Gessner along with extended family and many friends.

A Celebration of Life for Allan will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at St John Lutheran Church, New Fane, with Pastor Mark Eckert officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM until the time of service.
