Betty J. Boone

Elgin IL - Betty J. Boone, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 while at her sons home in Madison, WI.

Betty was born on May 21, 1926 in Kenosha, WI. She attended Elgin Community College, receiving her nursing degree. Betty was a registered nurse and had been employed by Sherman Hospital in Elgin and later worked for Dr. Edward Abbott before retiring.

Betty was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Wauconda, IL and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Elgin. Betty was also a member of the Gold Star Mothers Group as well as other groups in that area.

Betty is survived by her son, Michael Boone of Madison; 4 grandchildren, Michael Wright of Alexandria, VA, Joseph (Allison) Wright of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Jennifer (Mike) Weindhammer of Round Lake, and Casey Teets of Des Plaines; 3 great grandchildren; 2 half sisters, Arlene Milligan and Mary Haws, both of Kenosha, WI and a son-in-law, David Teets of Hampshire.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James R. Boone on March 5, 1996; 2 daughters, Catherine Wright and Patricia Teets and a son, PVT. James A Boone in 1967.

Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1001 Vilas Street, Elgin IL on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 12:00 PM Noon.
