Carrie A. Jacobs

MONONA - Carrie Ann Jacobs (nee Halverson), age 57, of Monona passed away on Thursday October 6, 2016 surrounded by her family at Stoughton Hospital, after a courageous battle with lung and brain cancer. She was born on February 27, 1959 in Fort Atkinson, WI, the daughter of Eugene and Carol Jean Halverson. She married Steve 'Jake' Jacobs on May 2nd, 2015 in Monona, WI.
Carrie was a graduate of Deerfield High School class of 1977. She received her Associates of Arts degree in Executive Secretarial Studies from Madison Business College in 1979, and went on to work as a Legal Assistant for local law firms for many years.
In her free time Carrie's hobbies included reading, cross stitching, word puzzles, baking pies, and traveling on day trips. She enjoyed babysitting for Evan, Allen, Michael, Joey and many others. Carrie was an Adult Leader at Deerfield Lutheran Church in Deerfield, WI and a current member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Monona.
Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her husband, Steve 'Jake' Jacobs; her sons, John Joseph Conners IV, Michael Conners, and granddaughter Kaydence Conners; as well as stepsons Matthew Jacobs (Jessica Bowen) and Andrew Jacobs; three brothers, Jeff (Debbie), Bruce (Sherry), and Mark (Jill) Halverson. Carrie was also 'Mom' to Rascal, her teddy bear dog.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Eugene Wilford Halverson and Carol Jean Halverson.
A Celebration of Carrie's Life will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11 am at the Deerfield Lutheran Church, 206 S. Main St., Deerfield, WI 53531 with Rev. Larry Sexe. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Dane County Humane Society, 5132 Voges Rd, Madison, WI 53718, or the Deerfield Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Prayer for Our Beloved Dead
Almighty God and Father,
It is our certain faith that your Son,
Who died on the cross,
Was raised from the dead,
The first fruits of all who have fallen asleep.

Grant that through this mystery
Your servants,
Who have gone to their rest in Christ,
May share in the joy of his resurrection.
