Claudia Jane Cook

September 21, 1951 — February 6, 2012

Madison - Claudia Jane Cook (née Glaser) passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at her home in Madison. She was born on September 21, 1952 to Joseph N. and Jane M. (Somers) Glaser in Fond du Lac, Wis. The Glaser family moved to Green Bay several years later, where her father showed great foresight in purchasing Packer season tickets, to the continuing enjoyment of the family.

Claudia graduated from UW-Green Bay with a B.A. in Art History. Throughout her life she had an artistic touch. She brought beauty to everything she encountered. While working at The Silk Canopy in Green Bay, she met her husband of 26 years, Kerry Cook. Shortly thereafter she moved to Madison to work at Orange Tree Imports. Claudia and Kerry were united in marriage in Madison in 1985 and were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth, in 1986. Claudia continued to work in retail at The Knitting Tree, Lakeside Fibers, and most recently, Wisconsin Craft Market, showcasing her artistic talent and providing patient and kind assistance to many Madison knitters. Evidence of her artistic brilliance is seen in her knitting, paintings and beadwork.

Claudia is survived by her husband, Kerry; a daughter, Elizabeth; her father, Joseph; her step-son Jason (Denice); and grandson Austin; three brothers; Dan (partner Lori), Tom, John (Katie); a sister, Mary (George) Krause; three nieces: Sarah, Rebecca, and Katherine, a nephew Nicholas; and as well as many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jane, her nephew, Charles Krause, and her mother-in-law, Fern.

Funeral services were performed at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Madison on Friday, February 10, 2012. If you wish to send a memorial, please send to Kerry and Elizabeth Cook at 3325 E. Washington Ave, Madison, WI, 53704.
