David N. (Stormin Norman) Roelke passed away June 19th, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Norm was born to Cliffford and Carolyn (Busser) Roelke on April 9th, 1954, in Madison, Wisconsin.
Norm graduated from Edgewood High School in 1972 and pursued a career as a chef and restauranteur. His true passion was cooking, and it showed. Norm’s career included working with Geffert catering, managing the Tower Supper Club in Minocqua and owning or managing various establishments around the state. He also worked as a cable installer for Cross Country Cable for many years and was affectionately known as “the cable guy.”
He loved his family and friends and enjoyed socializing at one of his many Middleton hangouts. Norm enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially the family cabin at Houman’s resort. July 4th had special meaning for Norm as he was always in charge of the chicken barbecue and family fishing tournament. He was the king of all bass kings, winning the family tournament a record 4 times.
He is survived by his mother Carolyn and brother Steve. He was preceded in death by his father Cliff and sister Denise.
A celebration of Norm’s life will be held at My Sister’s Kitchen in Mazomanie on a date that is TBD.
Special thanks to the U.W. hospital staff for their outstanding care during his final days, and his longtime friend Traci for assisting with his final wishes.
