Francis "Frank" Strupp

Francis Michael Joseph Strupp, known as Fran or Frank to his family and friends, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Sterling House in Middleton, WI. He was born on July 17, 1930 in Kenosha, WI to Mathew John and Amelia Rose (Herrick) Strupp.
Frank attended St James and St George grade schools, Mary D Bradford High School, the UW Extension Center in Kenosha and University of Wisconsin-Madison. After high school graduation Frank became an active member of the St. George Dramatic Club (1947-1951) which stimulated his interest in acting in community theatre. This interest continued while a student in UW-Madison and an employee at UW-Madison, Office of Undergraduate Admissions. He was seen in productions of The Wisconsin Players, The Village Playhouse, The Center Playhouse, Strollers, and Madison Civic Repertory. He was delighted to be hissed by women in his portrayal of Torvald Helmen in Ibsen's "A Doll's House."
On June 16, 1956 Frank married Jacqueline Rita Dory in Kenosha and they had a daughter Lisa Marie. Their marriage ended in divorce in January, 1965, Frank married Aurelia "Rhea" Way on a bitter cold day, January 22, 1966 in Decatur, NE.
Survivors include his wife, Rhea; daughter Lisa and husband Bruce Krueger of Wauwatosa, WI and grandchildren Adam and Lauren; brother the Rev. Joachim (Matthew) Strupp of Mt. Calvary, WI.; aunts Dodo Herrick and Julie Herrick; in-laws Mary Jean Johnson, Dave and Larie Way and Liz Lage; 14 nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins in the Herrick clan.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Matthew Karl and his sister, Mary Jane Mayer and brother-in-law Jim Mayer.
There will be no services. Frank's wish was to be buried in St George cemetery overlooking Lake Michigan. The family with gather in Kenosha to move him into his new room with a view.
