Harriet “Shari” Frances (Fuller) Norsetter was born on February 22nd 1938 in Madison, Wisconsin to Edith (Mack) Fuller and Henry Fredrick Fuller and left her earthly body on May 1, 2024.. She was the youngest of four siblings: Fred Fuller, Mary Lohr, and Edith Troia. Shari attended West High School before going to work at St. Mary’s Hospital Family Care Suites and newborn nursery, where she stayed for over 40 years looking after babies and moms. She was a mentor and role model for her co-workers, and has remained the closest of friends to a special few.
Shari married Howard Norsetter in 1957, and was mother to five children: Howard Jr (Sandra Verschoor) Norsetter, Lynn (Larry) Cooper, Carrie (Jim) Kronberger, Jane (Darryl) Shehan, and Laurel (Christian Emory) Prothro. She was also the proud Grandmother, Grandma to 6 Grandchildren who were the light of her life; Lisa (Octavio), Bradley (Molly), Emma, Ben, Trya and Josh; and 5 special great grandchildren that called her Nanny “Great”; Andres, Gabi, Cruz, Clarke, and Clara. In addition, Shari was blessed with 4 bonus grandchildren, Chris, Jennifer, Destiny and Shauna.
She devoted her life to Jesus Christ, the love of her children, grandchildren, greats, family and close friends who affectionately knew her as pinky. She will be remembered through special moments in Australia, Florida, many travels to state and national parks, Halloween, April Fools shenanigans, and family parties and adventures. She loved to play pranks, and baked the best peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
Shari was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her parents, and siblings She is survived by her five children, her six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren: she had a special relationship with her nieces and nephews, and was loved by many cousins.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Musa, the SSM hospital staff for taking such tender care of Shari and to the SSM hospice team who offered respectful support and care.
A mass will be held on Saturday May18th, the family greeting beginning at 10am, a Mass to celebrate her life at 11am, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1833 Regent St. in Madison, Wisconsin.
A luncheon will follow.
In leu of flowers honor Shari by offering an act of kindness, volunteer your time, take a drive to a park or on the ferry, hug and bless your family.
