James E Vogelsberger

September 25, 1928 — February 5, 2016

FITCHBURG - James Eugene Vogelsberger, beloved father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather, passed peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2016, at Sylvan Crossings, in Fitchburg, WI. He spent his last day surrounded by his family, and he died surrounded by immense love and memories of a life well lived. He was 87 years old.

Jim was the first in his family to graduate from college. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and always worked 2 or 3 jobs to provide for his wife and three children. Though his true home was Pittsburgh, he chose to live his final years in Madison, where he could spend time with his children. Jim was consistently upbeat and loving, finding happiness in his Catholic faith, Steelers games, and his family.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy Vogelsberger; by his son Mark Vogelsberger, and daughter Lisa West (Ken); by his seven grandchildren: Jennifer Mendoza (Antonio), Jamie Liberman, Emily Liberman (John Tillery), Haley Liberman, Noah Liberman, Benjamin West (Gina Stuessy), Hannah West; and his four great grandchildren: Alexandra, Gabriela, Andrew, and Rebecca Mendoza. He is preceded in death by daughter Debbie Liberman.

A memorial service will be held in Pittsburgh, PA. Memorial donations may be made to Agrace Hospice, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711; Fitchburg Senior Center, 5510 Lacy Rd., Fitchburg, WI 53711; or Nature Conservancy, 4245 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.
