James Reimers, 68, of Deerfield, WI passed away on December 11th, 2025 at home with his wife, Melissa, by his side. He was born on December 17th, 1956 in Eau Claire, WI, a son of the late Robert and Adele Reimers.
Jim, as he was known to most, carried a light within him that touched many. He was a canoe paddle wielding, cowboy hat wearing, fish slinging, gospel loving man. His passions reached far and wide. He lived life enthusiastically, loved deeply, and spoke softly.
Jim was always on the hunt for new adventures. The west called to him often, charting new routes whether by foot or by motorcycle. He could be found battling the scorching sun at the car races or pulling a muscle in a foot race against his nieces and nephews. Life did not pass him by but was lived to its fullest potential.
Following high school he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and married Melissa (Vergin). He then worked in the department of ophthalmology at the Fundus Photograph Reading Center. He dedicated much of his time to serving in international ministry programs and his church.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Thomas. He is survived by his wife Melissa, brother Robert, and a horde of nieces and nephews.
Jim is missed greatly but is celebrated even more. Grief marks the love we hold in our hearts but does not change it. He is loved. He is celebrated. He is remembered.
Celebration of life services will be announced at a later date.
