Jane Elizabeth Vorhees

MADISON - Jane Elizabeth Vorhees passed peacefully at her home in Madison, Wisconsin on Sunday August 27th 2017. She was 91 years old and lived a long and wonderful life. Jane was married to Purn Vorhees for 53 years before his passing in 2005. Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jon Lindskoog, of Madison, WI; her sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Francine Vorhees of Roseville, CA, and Peter and Shelly Vorhees of San Rafael, CA. Jane is also survived by her six grandchildren; Jessica (and husband Nate), Taylor, Joshua, Justin (and wife Kara), Skylar and Tucker, and 3 great grandchildren, Colin, Jennie and Nate. Born in Memphis, TN in 1926, Jane grew up in Memphis and Richland, WA before moving to California where she met Purn while working for the Atomic Energy Commision. She raised her 3 children in her beloved home in Ross, CA, where she loved to entertain, hosting parties and events which are remembered by all who knew her. Jane was very active with Sunnyhills Jr. Auxiliary, and Marin Charitable, donating much of her time to these causes. Jane spent the last decade of her life in Wisconsin, close to her daughter Jennifer who faithfully took care of her. Jane also made many great new friends at her home in Oak Park.
