Jane E. Puscas, 85, of Stoughton, WI passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on the morning of July 31st, 2025 at Dimensions Living Memory Care in Stoughton. She fought a difficult battle with Alzheimer’s but won victoriously when she ascended to heaven into her Lord’s loving arms.
Jane was born on July 20th, 1940 at home in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of John Nelson Sr and Daisy Pearl Nelson. Jane attended Rock Island Senior High School. She lived in Milan, IL, West Chicago, IL working as a secretary for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Lisle, IL for 20 years before she retired and moved to Blanchardville, WI in 2000 to be close to her daughter Sandi and her one and only granddaughter Nicole after the passing of Sandi’s first husband in 1998. She moved to Stoughton, WI in 2011 until her passing. While living in WI Jane worked at Lands End in Dodgeville, WI for 12 years. She also worked as a sandwich delivery driver for Jimmy Johns in Stoughton at the very young age of 76.
Jane had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of the Gloria Dei United Presbyterian Church in Rock Island, IL and attended Monroe Bible Church in Monroe, WI.
Jane loved doing for and spending time with her two daughters Karen Puscas and Sandi Matula and her granddaughter Nicole Miller. She also loved spending time at the Stoughton Senior Center playing WII bowling, among other activities, and she loved reading books and watching movies. Her kind and generous heart, playful sarcasm and mischievous smile will be missed by many.
Jane is survived and missed by her daughters Karen Puscas of Stoughton, WI and Sandi Matula (Mark) of Evansville, WI, granddaughter Nicole Miller of Fitchburg, WI, sister Joann Bushert of El Paso, IL, her special niece Connie Jo Brown of Rock Island, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Ann Puscas, her parents John Sr and Daisy Nelson, siblings John Nelson Jr, Nancy Nesbitt and Rennie Nelson.
Jane’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Bernadette from Agrace Hospice, nurse Victoria and the many caregivers who at Dimensions Living Memory Care provided such loving care, respect and support to Jane and her family.
A Celebration of Life to honor Jane will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Stoughton Senior Center in Stoughton, WI where Jane enjoyed spending much of her time there with friends and participating in the many activities and services that the center provides.
