Joann E. Haried

Joann Elaine (Brusegar) Haried, 82, passed away November 2nd, 2025 surrounded by family. Joann was born and raised in Stoughton, Wisconsin on November 8, 1942, which is where she resided for the entirety of her life. Joann married James (Jim) Haried in 1960, and they raised four daughters together.

Joann was a Certified Nursing Assistant, working at Stoughton Hospital for 21 years before her retirement. Joann always enjoyed country music, casinos, trips to Branson and the Dells, attending Syttende Mai each year, shopping with her “girls” (daughters), and spending time with her close friends. She loved spending time with her family and attending their events near and far, which included sporting events, bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, and weddings. In recent years, she loved when her great grandchildren came to visit, and their pictures adorned her home. Joann will be remembered for her strong work ethic, honesty and integrity, sense of humor, and love for her family and friends.

Survivors are her daughters, Jill Lake, Jodi (John) O’Connor, Jennifer Volenberg, Julie (Keith) Stenjem; grandchildren, Allison (Bryan) Rhyner, Adam (Angelina) Lake, Kiah (Mike) Rizzo, Carson (Michelle) Ehrke, Hannah (Bobby) Vanderwist, Kelsey Volenberg, Bailey Volenberg, Brittany Volenberg, Chase Volenberg, Cole (Olivia) Nelson, Jessica (Brad) Christopher; great grandchildren, Samuel Rhyner, William Rhyner, Madison Rizzo, Michael Rizzo, and Ava Christopher; siblings, Donna Hommen, Shirley (Harry) Reese, Tom (Michelle) Brusegar; and many nieces and nephews. Joann was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Haried; son-in-law, Darrell Lake; great granddaughter, Isla Rhyner, who was born sleeping; and niece, Monica Reese.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stoughton Hospital who went above and beyond to honor Joann’s wishes and provide compassionate care in her final days and moments. At Joann’s request, there will be no funeral services.
