Judy Ann Reis

With heavy hearts, we share that Judy Ann Reis, age 83, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025 in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

Judy, the youngest of Otto and Oliva Rogge's five daughters is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her sister, Arlene Mauel. Judy was a devoted mother of five children, Carolyn (Joe), JJ (Stacy), Lucy (Josh), Jenny (Jason) and Judi (Jason). A proud grandmother of eight, Jazmin, Tiffany (Joe), RJ, Bailey, Brett, Jade, Joseph, and Olivia. She was delighted to be a great-grandmother of two, Reis and Etta. She was also the loving companion of her faithful dog Charlie. Her family was the center of her world and she worked tirelessly in countless roles over the years to support them. Of all her jobs, her favorites were bartending and managing at the VFW Post 1318, where she was also a proud auxiliary member. Her quick wit, big heart, and sense of humor made her a favorite among friends and regulars alike. Then, as a devoted crossing guard for the elementary children. She greeted them daily with smiles, hugs and treats while keeping them safe.

Judy lived life with a spirit that was both fierce and full of fun. She loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers, especially on game days spent in the “big car.” She would also be found indulging in tasty chocolates or playing cards—Euchre, poker, or solitaire—usually with a little competitive sparkle in her eye. A true movie buff, Judy passed down her love of films, both old and new, to her children and grandchildren. Music filled her life, and so did adventure—whether traveling to Las Vegas or spending time at horse ranches in her younger years. She was a longtime devoted and proud member of St. James Catholic Church, where she found peace and solace in mass throughout the years.

Those who knew Judy will remember her as spunky, sassy, fiercely independent, and endlessly loving. She had a way of making everyone feel cared for, whether through a sharp joke, a warm hug, or a shared laugh.

The funeral service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held at Informed Choice Funeral Home at 3325 E. Washington Avenue, in Madison, Wisconsin, on October 28, 2025. Visitation begins at 10:00am until the funeral service begins at 11:00am. Luncheon to immediately follow. She will be cremated. Her family finds peace knowing she is finally free of pain—home again with her parents, sisters, her Capone and loved ones who went before her. Where she'll be surrounded by all the decorated Christmas trees she could ever want.

Though she has left this world, Judy’s love, laughter, and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
