Kathryn Ann Hack

Kathy passed away unexpectedly at home on September 22, 2026 . She was born October 7, 1952 to Paul and Helene (Bladl) Haas. Kathy grew up in Plain, WI 1952, attended St Luke’s School and graduated from River Valley High School in Spring Green WI in 1970.

Kathy moved to Madison to attend Madison Area Technical College. She met her husband Gary Hack in Madison. They were married on August 1, 1974, and were married for almost 50 years before Gary predeceased her in January 2024. Kathy and Gary had a good and happy life together. They enjoyed their time living on the family farm and exploring different towns. Kathy missed Gary very much, it helps us to know they are together now.

Kathy worked as a hostess for many years, first with Marc’s Big Boy restaurant and then Perkins Restaurant before her retirement. Kathy was a kind gentle person who didn’t have a mean bone in her body.

Kathy was an avid reader and loved to watch the Packers and Badgers.

Kathy will be missed by her sisters, Karen Hilsenhoff, Barb (Bruce) Rideout and her brother Dan (Jan) Haas, sister-in-law Gail (Greg) Walker and brother in-law Tom Hack. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, brother David and sister Betty as well as her parents-in law Helen and Harold Hack.

The family would like to thank her wonderful neighbors, Ron and Stacy and special family friend Jerry. They were so kind to Kathy and helped her so much after Gary’s death.

A celebration of life will take place on October 18, 2026, from 1-3PM at the Community Room, Greenway Apartments, 8561 Greenway Bvld, Middleton, WI 53562
