Kathryn Marie Klubertanz

Kathryn Marie (Kathy) Klubertanz, age 86, passed away after a short illness, May 5, 2016. She was born on June 19, 1929 in Richland County to Denis J. and Florence (Suda) Delaney and grew up in Avoca, WI, graduating from high school there in 1947. Kathy married Bernard J. Klubertanz on October 29, 1949. She worked at Madison General/Meriter Hospital in Telephone/Telecommunications for 35 years. She loved baking and cooking for family and friends, also dining out, reading, traveling, gambling and was a long-time Brewers (especially Bob Uecker) and Bucks fan and loved playing cards with her two very best friends Marie Palmer and Fran Zirkel. She was mostly devoted to her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kathy cared for and helped countless people in her lifetime with unequivocal love, generosity and kindness, especially to those whose age or disability inhibited them from simple daily tasks. Generous, good humored, good natured, a friend's real friend. All who met her described her as such a wonderful person. She will forever be loved and missed by all.
She is survived by her four sons, Robert (Cathy), Bradenton, FL, James, Madison, WI, William (Lilith), Madison, WI and Thomas, Middleton, WI, five grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Schrader, Dustin, Aaron, Kristin, Deanna and three great-grandchildren Allison Schrader, Azalea Klubertanz and Norman Klubertanz, two sisters, Mary Schwartz, Sun Prairie, WI, and Barbara (Roger) Renz, Sun Prairie, WI along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, brothers Jim Delaney (in the Korean War in 1952), John Delaney of Boise Idaho in 1996, and her sister Margaret (Delaney) Driskill in 2008.
At Kathy's request there will be no services. In kindness, donations may be made to Kathy's favorite charities, the Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul and WI Public Radio.
The family of Kathy would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the UW hospital in Madison that helped care for her during the last two weeks of her life.
A Celebration of Kathy's life will held at the VFW 349 S Walker Way, Sun Prairie, WI on Sunday June 5th from 2:00 to 5:00PM
