Maggie Long, 86 passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025 at her home in Marshall Wisconsin. Born on April 23, 1939 in Beloit, Wisconsin. Maggie lived a full and vibrant life, rooted in family, faith and community.
Maggie spent most of her working years in the mortgage industry, where she held clerical positions that reflected her dedication and attention to detail. Her professional life was marked by strong relationships with colleagues and a commitment to doing her work with care and integrity.
Outside of work, Maggie found joy in many pursuits. A passionate bowler for many years, Maggie was often on the top of the leaderboard, and proudly earned the opportunity to bowl with Earl Anthony in 1983-an experience she cherished. She also enjoyed card clubs with friends from work, especially playing Euchre. Her creativity shown thru in her love of cross-stitching; she often crafted thoughtful pieces for those close to her.
Faith played a central role throughout Maggie's life. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshall, where she found spiritual strength and fellowship. Her commitment to service extended beyond the church, where she volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank, giving back to the community she loved.
Maggie is survived by her brother Jim of Beloit, her children, Joe of Evansville, Fred and Chris of Marshall and Ray(Lana) of Madison; granddaughters Kari Lynn (Chad), Amanda Mary, and Flutura; great grandchildren, Zachary, Braden, Kenidy, Konnor, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Rose, her son in law Jim, her parents Ed and Mary; siblings Robert, Dick, John, Bill, Betty, Martha and Pat; and her very special friend Liz Humphreys.
In her final days, Maggie was lovingly cared for at home by her children with the support of Interim Hospice. Her family wishes to extend heart felt gratitude to Erin for the compassion and care she provided-becoming like family-and to Gill for providing spiritual comfort during difficult moments.
Maggie's life will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room, and the quiet strength with which she faced each chapter. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her
