Margaret A Ruesch

Margaret Ann Ruesch was a generous soul who will be dearly missed. She died surrounded by her family at St. Mary’s Hospital on June 6, 2024 at age 74.   She was born on February 10, 1950, the second of six children to Fredolin and Dorothea Ruesch.  She grew up and lived most of her life in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and attended college at UW Stout, earning a master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering.  After completing her initial training and a period of apprenticeship she was one of the first 100 women in Wisconsin to become a journeymen carpenter and worked several years at her father’s construction business.

She adored all animals, especially dogs and horses.  She always had a standard poodle as her pet and best friend.  She enjoyed reading, family history, family gatherings, organic gardening, singing, knitting, cards and socializing countless poodle puppy litters until they were old enough to find their forever homes.

Margaret is survived by her brother Roderick (Barbara), sisters Mary (Kennan) Pomeroy and Dorothea (Allyn) Watson; sister-in-law Mary Ann; nieces Cyndi, Stephanie, Caty, Michelle, Haley and Elizabeth; nephews Matthew, Aaron and Charles, and many extended family members, both here and abroad.  Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leo and sister Martha.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.  At her request, several maples will be planted on the Ruesch family farm in her honor.

Memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society, 5132 Voges Rd., Madison WI  53718.
