Mary A. Byrne

March 3, 1941 — November 27, 2021

Mary Agnes Byrne, 80, of McFarland, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her home on November 27, 2021 with her loving husband by her side.

She was born to parents, Clarence and Agnes Joy Mathison, on March 03, 1941, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

Mary met the love of her life, Eddie Byrne, in high school. Their love for each other grew over their 63 years of marriage. Together they raised four children: Debra Byrne (Doug), Jeff Byrne (Michelle), Dan Byrne, Lisa Bennett (Jerry). They were blessed with four grandchildren: Brittany Blackard (Jason), Brandon Bennett (Kelsi), Isaiah Byrne, and Jacob Byrne.

Mary provided childcare in her home for many years. She loved these children and cared for them as if they were her own.

Mary had a pure, sweet disposition. She had a great love for animals and children. Her family will joyfully remember her vast collection of cookbooks and recipes.

Mary is survived by her husband, Eddie, her four children, four grandchildren and sister, Maxine Hamm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Agnes Joy Mathison, brothers: Phillip and Arthur Grindle and sisters: Beverly Forseth and June Johnson.

Eddie would like to express gratitude to their hospice care team, especially Teri Bemis, Tamie Travis, Lisa Steindorf-Cleary and Lindsey Heisler. Your expert care and compassion will not be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for December 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Community of Christ, 5110 Kevins Way Madison, WI 53714.
