Mary Constance Rom

SUN PRAIRIE - Mary C. Rom, age 64, of Sun Prairie, WI passed away peacefully on Feb. 10, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zygmundt (Ziggy) and Florence (nee Milewski) and her sister, Christine.
Mary was a bon vivant, loving good food and good company. She and her family relished travel, collecting cookbooks from many cultures and cuisines.
Mary worked as the administrative assistant for the Director of Plant Engineering at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics for over 35 years, especially enjoying the comradery of her colleagues.
She was also justifiably proud of the many contributions she made to the Wisconsin State Employees Union Local 2412, in the various offices she held with them. Mary served on many committees and groups over the course of her career, but was particularly noted for her contributions to the State Employees Combined Campaign Eligibility Committee.
Mary's friends want to express their special thanks to the staff at Golden Living Center in Watertown and to Asera Hospice for the care, patience and kindness shown to Mary and her friends.
A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at a later date. Memorials in her name may be sent to UW Foundation Patient Assistance or the American Family Children's Hospital.
While many will miss her skills and hard work, even more will miss her kind heart, thoughtfulness and friendship.
