Mary Myfanwy Henriksen

April 20, 1943 — December 2, 2013

Mary Myfanwy Henriksen, age 70, passed away on December 2, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on April 20, 1943, the daughter of Alexander and Myfanwy Marvin. Her family moved to Madison from Milwaukee in 1956. She attended West High School graduating in 1961.

Mary married Charles Robert Henriksen in 1963. They had three children, Martha Anderson (deceased), Patricia Mazur, and Robert Henriksen. Mary spent most of her life as a single mother providing for her three children. And in 1996, adopted her grand-daughter, Christina Anderson, who she also cared for since she was born in 1992.

After Christina started school, Mary chose to re-enter the workforce in a new direction. She spent the last 15 plus years at various schools as a teacher's assistant. Through these experiences, Mary had formed many friendships with students, teachers, and parents and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mazur of Walworth, WI; her son, Robert Henriksen of McFarland; her brother, Stephen Marvin of Madison; grandchildren, Tyler Henriksen, Christina Anderson, and Lindsay and Allison Mazur. She is also survived by three nieces, a cousin and many caring friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Martha Anderson; and her brother, Michael Marvin.

A special thank you to Marguerite Hill, Donna Fernandez, and Abby DeLong.

A memorial get-together will be held to celebrate her life and share stories with family and friends at a later date.
