Richard Dean Morschhauser, 81, of Deerfield, WI crossed life’s final finish line on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Karla (Bakke) Morschhauser of Deerfield. No formal services are planned.
The youngest of eight children born to Maude (Reigle) and Ernest Morschhauser of South Mills Street in Madison, Richard grew up with a full house and a full heart. A proud graduate of Madison’s Central High School, he built a long and successful career in car sales and sales management, most recently with the Kayser Automotive Group — a natural fit for someone who never met a set of wheels he didn’t size up with a smile.
Retirement only shifted his passion into a new gear. Richard spent those years happily buying and selling race cars, cruising Rothie Road on his golf cart, and collecting both friends and quarters in Utica — pursuits he tackled with the same charm and enthusiasm he brought to everything he loved.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Agrace Hospice and the many compassionate caregivers who supported Richard both at home on the ranch and during his time in memory care in Monona. Their kindness carried him, and those who loved him, through his final laps with grace.
