Robert C. Cheney

Robert C. Cheney, 92 of Madison, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

He was born on June 28th, 1933 in McCracken, Kansas, the son of Rollo and Edna Cheney. After serving in the Korean War he moved to Madison, WI where he met and married Audrey Cheney in 1957.

He worked at Gardner Baking Co. for many years until his retirement.

He is survived by daughters, Summer Faust (Eric Arnold), Laura Trumble, and son Dean Cheney (Tonya); Granddaughters, Lisa Mehringer (Justin), Brittany Faust (Taylor Weeden), Lindsay Faust (Tessa Englund), and Chloe Cheney; Greatgrandchildren, Grant and Anna Mehringer, Fiona Weeden, Madden and Everett Englund.

He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, parents, brother Jack Cheney, sister Phyllis Dooley, and nephew David Dooley.

The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Park Nursing and Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care.

A private family celebration will be held at a future date.
