Shirley Ann Bostock

August 1, 1945 — June 28, 2017

Shirley Ann Bostock passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 while in home hospice care, after a well-fought battle with metastatic lung cancer. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Nanie Loftus; Father, Alvin Loftus and Brother, Thomas Loftus. She is survived by her Daughter, Jerilyn Bostock; Son, Craig Loftus and Grandson, Devyn Dalbec.

Shirley was born in Rome, GA on August 1, 1945 and graduated from Madison East High School in 1963. Shirley remained close with many of her high school girlfriends, regularly gathering for monthly "Birthday Club" dinner celebrations. But she also gained a multitude of additional close friends throughout her life due to her exuberant spirit, contagious zest for life and genuinely optimistic nature.

Shirley was a dedicated and strong single Mother of two children and started her 40 year career with the State of Wisconsin at the Office of the State Public Defender. She retired in October 2016 from the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health, as an Emergency Response and Alerting Systems Coordinator. She held a sincere commitment to her work and a deep respect for her colleagues, truly appreciating their great care and support of her during her illness.

Shirley's friends formed a very close-knit network around her...she liked to call them "Shirley's Angels", honoring their tireless devotion to her care, comfort and quality of life.

Shirley was a treasured Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend and Colleague who will be profoundly missed by all.
