"If roses grow in Heaven Lord pick a bunch for me. Place them in my mother’s arms and tell her they are from me. Tell her that I love and miss her and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her forehead and hold her for a while. Because loving her is easy I do it every day but there is an ache within my heart that will never go away.

Shirley Lynn Whitesell was born on February 11th, 1947, to Ruth and Edgar Whitesell.

Shirley worked for the Sun Prairie Health Care Center where she retired from in 2001. In Shirleys younger years she enjoyed listening to live music, dancing, spending time with family and on Sundays watching the Mad City Ski Team at Law Park in Madison with her daughter Tracy.

In her later years she enjoyed doing word search puzzles, taking walks to the pond by where she lived to see the turkeys and watching her favorite shows on TV. One of her favorite shows was General Hospital which she has watched since it started back in 1963. Some of her other favorite TV shows were MasterChef Junior, any of the holiday baking shows and around Christmas she would watch all of the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel even if she had seen it already. She loved getting together for the holidays and seeing all her children and grandchildren together.

Shirley is survived by 4 beautiful children, Sean (Becky) Sullivan of Sun Prairie, Tim Sullivan (Brandi) of Oshkosh, Tracy (Jon) Maves of Sun Prairie and Scott Sullivan (Jen) of Berlin. Shirley had 9 amazing grandchildren Josh, Lexi, Sydney, Cody, Dylan, Dawson, Scotty, Devin and Jaxson. She also had 2 beautiful great grandsons, Alex and Emmerson.

Shirley is proceeded in death by her parents Ruth and Edgar Whitesell and her grandson Cody Bailey.

I am so lucky that I got to call you my mom.

We will miss you so much.

And Mom... I love you more.
