Thomas "Tom" Barta, age 70, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI, on Monday, October 24, 2022.
He was born on December 7, 1951 to Charles and Joan Barta in Racine, WI.
After graduating from St. Catherine's HS he moved to Madison where he had a career of over 30 years with Wisconsin Dept of Motor Vehicles.
Tom loved and excelled in the sport of golf and was very proud of his record breaking score of "65" at Yahara Hills East course in 1984.
He was a great fan of PGA golf, Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, UW football and basketball. He enjoyed photography, reading and solving crossword puzzles.
Tom is survived by siblings; Jane (Richard) Kotowski, Mary (Tom) Moore, Nancy (Bob) Chapman, David Barta, and John Barta. Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, and nephew Matt Kotowski.
A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice, especially Lori for the care and concern they offered Tom the last few months of his life.
A private Celebration of Life will be held November 13th.
